The eligibility in this category will depend on the endorsement by the home office. The chance for this category has a ceiling at 1000 people a year. Graduates from any UK university endorsed by their university or by the Department of Trade and Investment of UK government are under the third category.
If fall under any of the mentioned categories and are thinking of tagging any family member along, you will need to prove that you have enough funds to support their stay in the UK. Once you are able to do so, they will be required to get a family visa.
Tier 2
This tier grants long-term visas to skilled workers who have the required skills for a long term job in different sectors such as accountancy, healthcare, IT or teaching. The job should be well stipulated in the Tier 2 Shortage Occupation List for eligibility. At the time of application for a visa under this tier, the applicants will need to have a job offer and a sponsorship certificate from a UK employer called a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship. In most cases, Tier 2 jobs are first advertised to the immigrants from the European Economic Area (EEA) before being made available for everyone.
As mentioned before, the tier system depends on points to determine qualified candidates. For Tier 2 applicants, they have to score a minimum of 70 points. Proper communication in English is also a requirement. As it was the case with Tier 1, the successful applicants are allowed to come with family members.
Tier 3
Tier 3 was meant for low-skilled workers to fill temporary job vacancies. Over the years the UK government has not allocated any visas under this tier. In other words, you cannot apply using this scheme.
